Coney Island

Luna Park, Coney Island

On our next trip, we decided to check out Coney Island.  Meg was very excited once we got there, you may or may not be able to tell from the pictures :).  There were a decent amount of rides and we immediately decided that we needed to test them out.  It was pretty much the same set up as Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk.  Luna Park's "famous" coaster is Cyclone and was built in 1927, three years younger than Santa Cruz's Giant Dipper, and just a little faster.  We exited with pounding pulses and stiff neck muscles.  We looked at each other and thought, we may be getting to old for this.....naw! On to the next ride!

She moves her body like a cyclone.... that song was stuck in our heads the rest of the afternoon :P
IT'S SO FLUFFY!

We got the BEST chocolate vanilla swirl here,  rivals Newport Fun Zone for SURE.

The men's record of 69 hot dogs in one minute, held by American Hero, Joey Chestnut, was challenged by Gregg but he fell 68 hot dogs short in a heart breaker finish.

All in all, it was a great afternoon at the best tourist trap Brooklyn has to offer.  We'll be back for another chocolate vanilla swirl and maybe a hot dog :)
