Dad arrived early on a Friday morning after a red-eye flight. He made it to the apartment just before Meg left for work and right as Gregg was getting home from working nights. After a quick nap for Gregg and Dave, they were off to see the sights! They took the subway to Battery Park, cruised up the West Side and zig-zagged through lower Manhattan. They stopped at the Charging Bull, Wall Street, the 9/11 Memorial, and up through NoHo where they were having their annual Feast of San Gennaro. They cruised the streets and picked up and arepa to hold them over before they headed to Katz to indulge in the famous Ruben for lunch.
Got enough pickles?
After the tour of Meg's office, they were off to happy hour at Amuse in the Lower East Side! Can't pass up a good deal :). After happy hour we went to dinner at The Meatball Shop.
Back to Brooklyn on the Subway, almost lost Dad at 2nd Avenue..
Saturday it was time to head over to Governor's Island before it closed for the Fall.
Getting on the ferry at Brooklyn Bridge Park!

Gregg liked the street name
Next, we were off to Red Hook to try out the well-loved Lobster Pound before retiring to the apartment to watch the Cal game.
By Sunday, Gregg was back to working days. So Meg and Dave set out for nice healthy brunch in the West Village (Café Clover) and more 'splorin. From Café Clover, we walked through the cutesy streets of West Village and Meg pointed out the "Friends" apartment and tried to explain what the difference between off Broadway and off-off Broadway was. We made it up to the Meat Packing district and checked out the Gansevoort Market (one of our faves). From there, we walked along the High Line then decided we wanted to check out Central Park. We headed to Penn Station and took the train to the Natural History Museum, which Dad decided is a must-do for his next visit, then we headed into the Park.

Dad's new favorite, Halal Guys! Had it twice!
Apparently we take all of our visitors here... but why wouldn't we? It's a cool spot with lots of history. We headed back to Brooklyn to the infamous Trader Joes to grab some groceries for dinner.
On Monday, Meg and Dad commuted to Meg's work together! Meg dropped him off at the bus stop at 30 Rock to do the bus tour around Manhattan. The same one that the mom's and gram's did when they were out here. He said it was very informative and gave him some ideas of what to see and do on his next visit out. They commuted home together too, packed in the F train like sardines, with plenty of people-watching to go around. Lucali was on the menu for the night, another one of our visitor staples.
David Beckham came here the next night, just missed him!
After dinner drinks at Bar Bruno
Meg took Tuesday off to show Dad Brooklyn Bridge Park, Dumbo, and Coney Island.
