Visitors of 2016

Kyle was coming in to town for work the following week so he decided to fly out early and make a trip of it. He arrived Friday night and we headed to Leyenda for dinner and drinks.

Mezcal and Tequila flights!
Gregg was on call at the hospital on Saturday, so Kyle and Meg headed to Smorgasburg in Williamsburg for lunch and dessert!  Then they stopped into reclaimed auto garage, Diviera Drive, for a couple cocktails.

Sunday, Gregg joined us for a trip to the Observation Deck in the Millennium Tower.

Stopped for a drink to warm up at Smith and Mills, before heading up to Takashi for dinner.

We got to pick out our own sake glasses.  Kyle went for it.

Pork buns, always a must.

Night cap at Palma. This spot has become one of our favorite places to stop before we head home.  The drinks are always great, it has a cozy atmosphere and its not loud.  A great place to end the night :)

Kyle flew out on Tuesday night and Meg's parents flew in on Thursday.  Gregg was unfortunately on call, but Meg took them to one of our favorite spots.. ALMA!  If you've read our blog before, you know that we love to take visitors here. Great food and great view!

Then it was take your parents to work day! Just kidding, but Dave and Kathleen took the subway to work with Meg and did a tour of NBC Studios which they highly recommend.  They got to see the studio of Saturday Night Live which was pretty neat.

Where The Today Show is filmed.

Gregg was post call so he came to meet us for lunch and enjoy Halal Guys (Dave's fave)!

While Meg went back to work, Gregg took Dave and Kathleen up through Central Park, up to the American Museum Natural History (just to pick up tickets), down through Columbus Circle and down Broadway before stopping at Magnolia Bakery for some banana bread pudding.  Meg met us at the bakery after work and we headed back home to get ready for dinner at Battersby!

New "hidden" bar in our neighborhood, Boudoir.

Gregg was on call, yet again, so Meg, Dave, and Kathleen were off to Manhattan to do some more exploring.  First stop was the Millennium Tower.

Dave had cruised through Little Italy with Gregg last time he was out so he wanted to show Kathleen through the neighborhood.

We did not go hungry during their visit, thats for sure.  Saturday night's dinner was at Gramercy Tavern, an NYC must.

They always have beautiful seasonal displays in the entry way.

Dave describing the flavors of his dessert and Kathy enjoying her heart cappuccino.

After dinner drinks at Dear Irving!

Being a third wheel...

Sunday, Gregg was home from the hospital and ready to hang out!  Our first stop was to Park Slope to check out a potential new apartment (more on that later).

Then we headed up to the American Museum of Natural History for real this time and explored the Butterfly exhibit, the Hayden Planetarium, and, of course, the dinosaurs!

Watch out for that bear behind you!

We grabbed an early bite at Jin Ramen before heading back down to the West Village for a comedy show at the Comedy Cellar.  The line up of the evening included Judah Friedlander, Ryan Hamilton, Gary Gulman, and more! Everyone was hilarious and it was the perfect way to spend the last night of Dave and Kathleen's visit.  Monday Morning, they caught an early flight back to the best coast, I mean West coast ;)

During those two fun-filled weeks of visitors, our landlords let us know that due to the imminent arrival of their second baby boy, they needed the space we were currently occupying.  Luckily for us, their family is in property management and they had a newly renovated apartment available in Park Slope that was ours if we wanted. After taking a look with Kathleen and Dave and salivating over the dishwasher and in-unit laundry, we made the move in June!

Your could touch every wall from the toilet in our old apartment.

Our new view from our roof!  Not too shabby :)
